This role supports a multi-year transformation effort aimed at standardizing and automating discretionary grants lifecycle processes across DOT's Operating Administrations. The ideal candidate brings hands-on Salesforce development experience, strong understanding of Public Sector Solutions (PSS), OmniStudio configuration, secure design principles, API-first development, and Agile/DevSecOps practices. The developer will collaborate with architects, BAs, product owners, testers, integration SMEs, and federal stakeholders to deliver scalable, human-centered digital services. Key Responsibilities • Design, build, and deploy Apex Classes, Triggers, Lightning Web Components (LWC), OmniStudio components (DataRaptors, Integration Procedures, FlexCards), and custom metadata types. • Develop scalable business workflows that support Pre-Award, Award, Post-Award, Program Oversight, and Recipient Oversight processes for DOT discretionary grants. • Configure Experience Cloud and Service Cloud components to support internal staff and external grant recipients. • Implement secure APIs, Platform Events, and integration patterns to connect with DOT systems such as Oracle financial systems, Grants.gov, SAM.gov, and USASpending.gov. • Support data migration activities including profiling, cleansing, mapping, transformation, reconciliation, and post-cutover validation. • Optimize the Salesforce data model and configure role-based security aligned with federal compliance requirements including FISMA, Section 508, 2 CFR 200, FedRAMP, and privacy mandates. • Participate in code reviews and enforce Salesforce best practices, governor limit compliance, and reusable component patterns. • Support configuration of reusable templates for NOFO creation, merit review workflows, performance reporting, audit activities, and closeout processes. • Develop data models and services that feed the public-facing Grants Transparency Dashboard, ensuring accurate lineage and metadata tracking. • Contribute to backlog refinement, sprint planning, and demos. • Collaborate on CI/CD using DTC-governed Salesforce DevOps toolsets. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field. • 3+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, including Apex, LWC, and Flows. • Strong experience with OmniStudio development. • Strong understanding of Salesforce Public Sector Solutions (PSS) framework, PSS data model, and standard grantmaking components. • Experience integrating Salesforce with enterprise systems via REST/SOAP APIs. • Experience supporting large-scale, complex applications within federal environments. • Ability to obtain Public Trust.
